On October 1, 2021, one of three passenger gate areas currently in operation at Newark Liberty International Airport’s Terminal A closed to make way for the final construction phases of the new state-of-the-art Terminal A, which is scheduled to open in early January 2023. This closure results in a shift in flight operations that may result in increased wait times at peak periods.
The Port Authority of NY & NJ understands these gate closures may cause temporary inconvenience and is working closely with airport partners to help keep flights operating smoothly throughout the project. Updates related to this closure will be announced on this webpage.
