AirTrain Newark Partial Service Outage

AirTrain Newark is not serving the Newark Airport Train Station Monday through Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., due to construction of the new AirTrain Newark. 

During these hours, customers arriving at the Newark Airport Train Station should take a free shuttle bus directly to their airport terminal. Customers traveling from the airport to the Newark Airport Train Station should take the AirTrain to P4 Station and transfer to a free shuttle bus. 

Please budget an additional 10-15 minutes to reach your terminal during this time. Service between Terminals A, B and C, Rental Cars, P3 Station, and P4 Daily Parking will not be affected. The AirTrain operates normally on weekends and outside of these hours.

 

How do I get from the Newark Airport Train Station to Newark Airport?

If you arrive at the Newark Airport Train Station Monday through Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., take a shuttle bus directly to your terminal. Outside of these hours and on weekends, take the AirTrain directly from the Newark Airport Train Station to Terminals A, B or C, Rental Cars, P3 Station, or P4 Daily Parking.

How do I get from Newark Airport to Newark Penn Station, New York Penn Station, or other destinations by train?

Monday through Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., take the AirTrain from your terminal to P4 Station. At P4, transfer to a free shuttle bus to the Newark Airport Train Station to connect to NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak trains. 

Outside of these hours and on weekends, take the AirTrain directly to the Newark Airport Train Station to connect to NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak service.

How do I find the shuttle bus?

Follow signs with a red banner that say “AirTrain Construction Partial Outage” to find the shuttle buses. 

You can also check digital bus signs or ask an Airport Customer Experience Specialist wearing a red uniform for assistance.  

 

Why are shuttle buses replacing AirTrain Newark service at certain times?

Shuttle buses are replacing AirTrain service between P4 Station and the Newark Airport Train Station during construction of a new AirTrain Newark. 

The new AirTrain is part of the Port Authority’s comprehensive Vision Plan to transform Newark Liberty International Airport.
