Taxi fare estimates below do not include tips, tolls, Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) congestion pricing opens in a new tab, or additional fees which can range from $6.75 - $15.75, depending on time of day and destination. In addition, there is a $1 charge for each bag, including carry-ons. Senior citizens can receive a 10% discount.

Taxi safety tips
Be careful of anyone not wearing an official uniform and proper identification who may offer transportation or luggage help. They may be unlicensed, uninsured, or operating illegally. For official help, please go to the Port Authority Welcome Center in the arrivals area (Level 1) of each terminal or to an official taxi stand.

Taxi commission information
It is illegal for taxi owners and drivers to charge more than the officially approved Newark Liberty International Airport fare rates when transporting the same group of passengers from the airport to anywhere in New Jersey (except specified special areas) or to New York City. Tolls, the additional $5.00 charge for all destinations on the East Side of Manhattan between Battery Park and 145th St, and any applicable Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) congestion pricing are not included in this fare limit.
